Join me in my spacious studio for an in-depth beginner's sewing class! During this course, I will take you through everything involved in becoming comfortable with a sewing machine, working on smaller samples whilst progressing towards making a garment made to your measurements.

There's no need to have your own machine as they will be provided-with the option to bring your own if you have one at home you'd like to get to grips with. All materials are included except the fabric used for your end garment project-which I'll give you tips for choosing yourself!

Ideal for absolute beginners, as well as people already familiar the basics of a sewing machine looking to build their skills and confidence.

Class sizes will be small to ensure good one on one time. I will provide all equipment needed for the class-scissors, pins etc. An optional list of supplies that would be helpful for working on your skills/project at home will also be sent upon enrollment. I will also send you the choice of sewing patterns available so you can choose the garment you will be making for your final project. The sewing pattern will be yours to take away after class.

Course content includes:

Learning the ins and outs of a sewing machine
Threading a machine
Sewing buttons and zips
Essential sewing techniques
Tracing and using a sewing pattern
Measuring and choosing a pattern size
Choosing fabrics for a project
Finishing techniques

Where to find my studio: I am located at Rogart Street Campus where ample free parking is available. Bridgeton train station is close-by and Bellgrove train station is a 5-10 minute walk away. I am also about a 20 minute walk from Glasgow city centre.

Come and learn the skills to get you on your own fashion journey in a friendly, relaxed environment. See you in class soon! x

Great class!

I was a little hesitant at first because I couldn’t even thread my sewing machine at home! I needn’t have worried, it was a small class and Steph immediately put us at ease with her friendly and natural manner.

She was really patient and because the class was small she was able to help us all individually when needed.

I made a cushion cover and by following the pattern, a top!! I was so proud!

I’d definitely recommend this class to anyone who is a beginner, I loved it 😊

Excellent Sewing Class!

I loved every week of sewing class. Steph really cleverly mixed learning different sewing skills with a ‘project’, so there’s not a week where your progress isn’t evident.
The atmosphere was relaxed, fun and due to it being a small group, you really do benefit from Stephs’ skills and knowledge. Would recommend to any beginner, I’ve already turned the off cuts of my top into a cushion cover! Hopefully I’ll be at an intermediate class in 2025.
