Join me in my spacious studio for this beginners workshop and make your own tote bag to take away!
During this one day session, I'll take you through all the basics of using a sewing machine, including threading the machine, choosing and changing stitches and replacing the needle. We'll then move on to samples of simple stitches, before making a fully lined tote bag.
I'll also show you how to mark your pattern pieces on to and cut out your fabric. You have the option to use the fabric I provide to make an animal print or colourblock tote (choice of colours on the day) or you can bring your own fabrics and thread. If you want to bring your own, I will send a list/guide for buying upon enrolement. The price is £78.00 with the materials included and £65 if you are bringing/buying your own-just use the drop-down menu to choose the option you prefer.
There's no need to have your own machine as these are provided, along with all the equipment needed such a scissors, pins etc, making this a great way to try out sewing without having to buy additional equipment first. It's also a good taster session to see if you would like to join my beginners class where the focus is on garment making.
The session will run from 10:30am-5:30pm, with a 45 minute lunch break. Lunch is not provided but I will have biscuits and refreshments for everyone. You are welcome to bring your own lunch and there is also a cafe downstairs.
Where to find my studio: I am located at Rogart Street Campus where ample free parking is available. Bridgeton train station is close-by and Bellgrove train station is a 5-10 minute walk away. I am also about a 20 minute walk from Glasgow city centre.

Classes are non-refundable if cancelled with less than three week's notice. If you are unable to make a course you have signed up for, I will transfer you to another date where possible-although I am unable to guarantee this. Please get in touch if you need to make any changes to your booking.
